Nikki turned 9 in 2010 and we celebrated in a new way. For her "friend" birthday party, she had her first slumber party with a few friends. It was the first time for all of them to have a group sleepover. A few of them had once or twice slept at a friends on their own, so this was a big deal. One girl went home after midnight, but returned the next morning for more fun. It was a blast!
Her party was on her actual birthday, so we celebrated as a family (with the Gelsomino's next door) later that weekend. Nikki wanted to dine at Old Country Buffet, so we did. Then we returned home, got into our pjs and invited the Gelsomino's over for cake.
