The weather was great - partly sunny partly cloudy, warm and very breezy. The waves kicked up and Doug had a great time going further out and riding the waves in. The older girls enjoyed playing in the water closer to shore and watching Doug body surf in. Kaitlin enjoyed eating sand.

Sandy Hook State Park beach
On August 21, we decided to make a trip to the shore with our neighbors, John, Sherry, Sarah & Julia. We tried a new beach this time and I think it's where we'll go most often. Parking is close to the beach and the beach is flat so that you can see the edge of the water no matter where you sit. (Belmar beach, where we usually go, has a steep slope down to the water so that you can't see the water if you are sitting at your blanket) And it's closer - less than an hour from home!

Sand is delicious and such a nice texture on my gums! It makes a good facial exfoliant as well! (click on the picture to enlarge, then hit the back button to return to the blog)
