In November, the Girl Scout troops in our town held the first annual holiday bake off. Nikki was psyched. She chose to make Oatmeal Toffee Chocolate Chip Cookies. This is an embellishment of the usual Oatmeal Toffee cookies that I've been known to make. She wanted chocolate chips, too (as any sane person would!). She and I had a lot of fun making them. She did everything except crack the eggs and putting in and taking out of the oven. They were delicious! She was so sure she'd win. But alas, it wasn't meant to be. There were close to 30 entries - 3 of which were variations of oatmeal. (her's were the best of the 3!) We decided that next time, we'll try Cassandra's Confetti Cookies. They look prettier than oatmeal, and everybody likes them!
Waiting to hear who won
