Bright and early, on Caroline's birthday, we woke up and immediately started with the presents. Kaitlin enjoyed handing her the gifts, then trying to take them back once Caroline opened them. She didn't want a party with her friends until the weather was nicer. Her plan was to do the usual - play at our house, and then walk to the ice cream shop for Italian Ice. (no one wants to do that in March!) So we made a cake for her and invited the neighbors over after dinner to share cake. Then this summer, Caroline decided she wanted to have her party at the theatre so we invited 3 friends over and Doug took our big girls and the friends to see Brave. Afterwards, they went to Dunkin Donuts for "birthday cake." So much for the Italian Ice idea!
