In light of my father's recent diagnosis of cancer, we packed up the kids and flew to Michigan last week. The girls had a great time even though it rained for days, dumping 10" on us before it finally let up. Thankfully, the house did not leak and the property did not flood. Many others in Chicago and Southwest Michigan were not so lucky.
As always, Memah always has something ready for harvesting, and this time is no different. Her concord grapes are finally ready. When we were visiting in July, the girls tried eating the grapes when they were still green. They love sour things, but even these were too sour in July! Despite the rain, Memah took them out to pick grapes.
