First Day of School

School finally started on September 9 on what started out to be a dreary, overcast day. Therefore I took their pictures in the house that morning, fearing rain at pickup time. Luckily, the day was saved and the sun came out and I was able to take the traditional first day shots outside the school by the sign. My, how they are growing...

The school year is off and running now. After two weeks, Nicole's teacher resigned - she claims it isn't because of the kids! But she's been replaced by a nice teacher fresh out of school. The jury is still out on whether she'll be okay or not. She's a bit more strict, more likely to punish than reward good behavior, but she's pretty, so that makes her okay according to these 3rd grade girls. If she can be more like the out-going teacher and be less stingy with the rewards, then it'll be a great year!

Caroline is in kindergarten all day and is enjoying eating lunch at school. Almost every single day, she requests a fried egg in her thermos, and likes that she gets to choose between chocolate, fat-free, and strawberry milk when she buys milk every day. She likes to change that up. There were a lot of her old classmates who didn't return this year, and alot of new kids to take their places. There are 17 total in her class, but only 6 of them are girls. At least Billy returned this year - Caroline's crush on him continues this year...
