Caroline's Pre-K 3 Celebration

Caroline showing us her "grocery bag piggy bank" she made from a 2-liter bottle. We're to keep the bags in there and pull them out from the bottom when we need them!

Caroline receives her certificate for completing Pre-Kindergarten for 3-year-olds

Monday was a big day for Caroline. Her class gave a concert to celebrate the end of the school year and we got front row seats! It was an impressive concert for such little kids - 17 of them. Only a few refused to do anything and just stare blankly the whole time. Or start to cry. Caroline did great. Her smile was brighter than ever. They started with the opening prayers of Hail Mary, Angel of God, Our Father, and special intentions. They then moved on to the Pledge of Allegiance, sang the Star Spangled Banner, and God Bless America. (I'm going to try to put a link to a movie of them singing God Bless America after I finish typing) Then they sang 19 more songs before getting their little certificates. My favorite song was the Days of the Week. Sing it to the Addams Family: "days of the week (clap clap) days of the week (clap clap) days of the week, days of the week, days of the week. (clap clap) There's Sunday and there's Monday, there's Tuesday and there's Wednesday. There's Thursday and there's Friday, and then there's Saturday. Days of the week. (clap clap) Days of the week (clap clap) days of the week, days of the week, days of the week. (clap clap)" Hilarious!

My dad, PopPop, made it in for the concert which made Caroline's day. Nikki was also allowed to leave class to watch the concert. She was so excited to be able to do this. Siblings are allowed to attend eachother's milestone events which is nice. Afterwards, we wandered around the auditorium finding her artwork and taking it home. There were donuts, bagels, and cookies and coffee and tea afterwards.

Doug took the morning off, so he stayed for lunch before returning to work. Caroline and PopPop hung out together watching "The Magic School Bus" and reading "Pinkalicious" while I picked up Nikki from school later. Then, PopPop and the girls changed clothes and had a water fight. The girls had squirt guns, and I gave PopPop the hose! At one point, Nikki got the hose from him and turned it on him so all three were soaked! Then Caroline and PopPop hung out on the front porch to air-dry and discuss boo-boos. (Caroline is a rough and tumble kid and therefore full of them) What a magical day.
