Take Me Out to the Ballgame!

Our neighbor, Frank, has season tickets to the Yankees. He was kind enough to let us use his tickets for the April 30 game against the beloved White Sox! The weather was PERFECT, it was a high scoring game, and even though the Sox lost, all 5 of us had a great time! We were in the upper deck, 2nd to last row, but between home plate and 1st base. We could see everything!

Nicole wore her White Sox t-shirt (thanks Grandpa!) and her White Sox World Series ball cap. Caroline wore a Yankees ballcap because whatever team Nicole likes, Caroline roots for the other! It was comical - all the confusion whether to cheer or boo. Both girls would say to me, "wait, was that good?" and I'd have to tell which one to cheer. Caroline's favorite player is Derek Jeter, or as Nikki calls him, Jerek Deter. He made Caroline happy with a home run and double that night.

The baby slept through one inning and the rest of the time enjoyed sucking on Doug's finger, or looking around watching all the people and lights. She was a hit - everyone loves seeing a baby at the ballpark!

If it weren't so darn expensive, we'd do this more often.

Our view from our seats:

I like the overhang over the upper deck. I'm not sure if it played a factor in how un-windy it was up there, but it was really calm which I appreciated!

oops - should have changed the camera setting. taken after the game when most people had cleared out already.
